The aoe-2.4 driver can work with any Linux kernel that is at least as recent as 2.4.20. The kernel that comes with RedHat 7.2 is not compatible with the aoe-2.4 driver because it is too old.

If you install a more recent 2.4 Linux kernel on your RedHat 7.2 system, you should be able to use the aoe driver.
